Dog's Best Friend Training, LLC is one of the few places in the country that combines advanced training in both Ethology and Psychology to develop humane and effective treatment plans for problem dogs. Our behavioral consultant, Ms. Chelse Wieland, CPDT, has extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with training, temperament testing and working with behavioral problems. Trained by Dr. Patricia McConnell, after years of experience as a training and behavior expert at shelters, Ms. Wieland is dedicated to helping owners find safe and humane ways to solve canine behavioral problems. Dog's Best Friend Training, LLC has had over seventeen years of experience helping dogs and their humans, and we encourage owners to get help from experts who combine their love for animals with scientific knowledge and years of experience working with dogs.

In each appointment, we'll ask you about your pet's history and current behavior to get a thorough perspective on your pet's behavior problem. If it's appropriate, we'll work directly with your dog as part of our evaluation procedure, and then work together with you to develop a treatment plan to prevent, treat and manage problem situations. Often, we work as a team with your veterinarian to insure that all aspects of your pet's behavior are being considered and treated. Serious behavioral problems usually require more than one session-we see the most improvement in these cases if clients come to see us at least two or three times rather than only once.

We see appointments at Four Paws Swim and Fitness on the west side of Madison, Happy Dogz Daycare, Middleton or in your home. Initial appointments for serious behavioral problems usually last about 1.5 hours, and most follow up appointments are about an hour in length. Our fee is $90.00 an hour. For house calls, we charge an additional trip charge for our travel time to your home in addition to the hourly consultation fee.

We wish that we could guarantee that your pet's problem behavior will be completely cured after your visit with us, but such a claim is not realistic or responsible. How your pet responds to treatment depends on many factors, including genetics, early environment, current environment and how much time you have to work on treatment. Because of those factors, it is impossible to predict exactly how any one dog will respond to treatment, but we will do all that we can to maximize your chance for success. We are very proud of all the help we've given to pets over the years (and to the people who love them), and welcome the opportunity to continue providing state-of-the-art solutions to animal lovers around the country.

To book an appointment, please call our office during working hours, Monday through Friday (Central Time), at (608) 277-1339.
